Beijing Xiannongtan Athletics
Technique School is located in the richly historied and well-known
Xiannongtan. With the development of New China, Beijing Sports
Work Brigade (the predecessor of Xiannongtan Athletics Technique
School) was established here in 1956, becoming the cradle of
China¡¯s competitive sports. The athletics of Beijing was also
brilliant from upon here, and a lot of world champions such
as Zhuang Zedong, Lang Ping, Zhang Jinjing, Zhang Yining, and
some famous instructors like Bai Jinshen, Ma Yuan¡¯an were also
brought up here. Now there are nearly 300 athletes, 60 outstanding
instructors, among which there are 4 state-level instructors
and 16 senior instructors. Also, there are 6 outstanding sport
teams, namely Beijing table tennis team, Beijing gymnastic team,
Beijing track & field team, Beijing women¡¯s football team,
Beijing tennis team and Beijing weightlifting team. With a highly
dedicated and persistent spirit, they¡¯ve won dozens of world
or nation-wide championships in all kinds of international and
national competitions during the past few years, keeping opening
new brilliant pages for the great country and its capital.
Covering a ground area of 168 thousand square meters, 70 thousand
square meters of which used as training field and arena, Xiannongtan
Athletics Technique school has seen the 11th Asian Football
Tournament, the men¡¯s football matches and women¡¯s football
final of the 21st National University Games and other grand
sport events held here.
As China has won the bid to host the 2008 Olympics, Xiannongtan
Athletics Technique School will be more dedicated to foster
more talented athletes. Taking the 2008 Olympics as a milestone,
the staff of the school will fully exert their capabilities
and advantages, and join hands to make the school a beautiful
and modern sport training base with advanced facilities and
first class athletes, so as to contribute more to China¡¯s athletic
development.
The school has an administrative office, a party committee office,
a training section, an HR department, an administrative department,
a field management department, a security division, a propaganda
section, a financial section, a catering service department,
a sanitary section, a tennis center, a Labor Union, a Youth
League committee, a budget section and an education department.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
¡¡1. To undertake sport events such as table tennis, gymnastics,
women¡¯s football, weightlifting, tennis, track & field games
for Beijing;
¡¡2. To undertake the task of bringing up socialist-minded and
talented sportsmen;
¡¡3. To implement the policies made by the Communist Party for
the competitive sports, consolidate the Party¡¯s leadership over
the athletics in politics, organization and ideology, and to
build a fully qualified faculty team.
