Beijing bicycle team was established in 1958 with 45 years history. They have won hundreds of championships in domestic and foreign important competitions with splendid achievement; the team has trained large quantities of outstanding contestants as Wang Ping, Zhang Linzao, the Zhang Li China, Yang Guiling, Tang Xuezhong, Gong Yuyan, and Jiang Yonghua and so on. It has achieved the honor for Beijing and made great contribution to the Chinese cycle racing and the versatile athletes’ movements. In Yunnan World Cup bicycle match held in August, 2002, Jiang Yonghua obtained gold medal of 500 meters timing matches with 34.000 seconds result, which broke the 4 years maintained original world record of 34.010 seconds created by French great atehlet Frey Cyr, it is the first time for the bicycle athlete in our country to create the world record of the Olympic Games, and it is also the first world championship since the establishment of Beijing bicycle team.
